HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura Recognizes Outstanding
Supporters and Raises Over $40,000 for Homeless

Santa Monica, CA (July, 2009) – HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura recently celebrated the joy of giving, and raised more than $40,000 for it’s effort to stamp out homelessness.

“We are privileged to honor very special individuals, companies and organizations for outstanding contributions in addressing the plight of the homeless.  What truly makes HomeAid so real and meaningful is that it fulfills the simple need of “roof over head” during a person’s most desperate and fragile time in their life,” stated Lorraine Alderette, chair of the Hearts Building Homes event.

Among those honored were Joyce Mason, vice president of marketing Pardee Homes; Tom Weston, chief executive officer of Weston/Mason Marketing; California Solar; Centex Homes; Eriksson Tile; Landscape Development Inc.; Lennar; LL Development Partners; Montage Development; New Urban West; Pardee Homes; Shea Homes; S & S Construction; Watt Communities; Mark Di Cecco of Di Cecco Architecture.

To date, HomeAid has completed 19 shelters, including work on Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles, Tender Life Maternity Home in Ventura, Boys Town in East Rancho Dominguez and Haven Hills in the San Fernando Valley. In the pipeline for 2009, HomeAid will work with builder captain Pardee Homes on U.S. VETS Villages of Cabrillo to be located in Long Beach serving returning Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.

“The evening was a great success, thanks in large part to the many generous sponsors including Electrolux as our presenting sponsor, S&S Construction/Shapell Industries, Pardee Homes, Building Industry Association Los Angeles Ventura, The Miller Family Companies and Color Design Art. Their support allowed us to host an outstanding evening, and to continue our efforts in providing housing for the homeless,” indicated Jennie Cowart, HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura executive director.

HomeAid is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, with 22 chapters across the nation. The organization partners with the Building Industry Association of Southern California and its builder-members and associate members.
