Eco-Friendly Destiny Doghouse

I’m a “rescue” which means I’m a lucky dog. I have the best Mom in the world that loves me unconditionally, feeds me healthy food and I sleep in her bed. When I want to be outside and chase the squirrels and birds I have my very own “beautiful” doghouse.

On a rainy afternoon two years ago I was lucky enough to be hit by a car on a busy street in the San Fernando Valley. I know, what’s so lucky about getting hit by a car; it changed my “destiny.” The driver got out of her car and picked me up to see how bad I was hurt, lucky for me, I was just bruised and scared. She drove through the neighborhood in hopes someone might be looking for me but no one was. She took me home, cleaned the mud and grease off me and fed me a hot meal; life seemed good.

Over the weekend, she drove through the neighborhood looking for posters of me but there were none. What she didn’t know is that my family had to move when my Dad lost his job, they couldn’t take me with them; I was let loose in hopes I would find a place to live.

The new lady didn’t have any pets and got home late from work everyday, needless to say; I was lonely. She called her friend one night and told her she needed help finding a home for me. Her friend called The Rescue Train, my heart broke when I heard her say she was giving me away. She got a phone call the next evening and was told the The Rescue Train would pick me up in the morning to go to a foster home. I was lying on her lap and looked up as she looked down and with tears in her eyes she said, “never mind, I’m keeping him and his name is “Frankie,” I never felt so happy in my life!

She immediately called her Dad and asked him to come over and install a doggie door which he did the next day. I love my Mom, my sister Nicki and my newest sister Kelly that were recently adopted from The Rescue Train. I’m a lucky dog with a loving family which includes my Grandma Olivia, Auntie Kara and my best friend Jade.

Sometimes when life throws you a bad bone there’s a filet mignon just down the road.
